EASY PEASY SUNDAY

      Yesterday we finally had some sunshine after many days of rain. We all went out for a bit. 

       

It was not so wet (it did rain a little in the morning). I walked on the grass and ate some grass. But the whole thing made me a little sleepy and I actually has a very short nap in the carrier. I enjoyed it as there was a soft breeze as well.  My brother Tanaka investigated downstairs. So that came true as well.  Akira went out only for a minute. She did her usual turn-a-round.  I thought that was silly as I would have walked as long as san allows me to. I think she should give me all her walk privileges. 

I rested in front of little neighbour's house and played for abit. I was not worried that he would rush out as he goes for walks as well with his mommy. 

These plants were all furry clean and well-kept. I wonder if they are afraid to grow as I fink they need to grow up straight. Not like san's plants that grow every which way. There were no bugs here. I fink the downstairs neighbours expect their plants to be soldiers ;)

                 

I spent time with san sitting on her lap yesterday. This is what I call 'loving time' as we sit with each other quietly and san talks to me softly as well. I have loving time at the end of the day when everything has slowed down. Sometimes when san does work at the computer I help her with the mouse it keeps running all over the place. I tell it to stay! 

                   

          Today it looks like sun. I'm sure we would get more walks. They're my favourite. 

Saturday Easy

Today the day will be soft and the spirit easy. I hope it won't rain too much, at least not the whole day like yesterday. 

                  

                          

                              I plan to spend it sitting with grandma and

              

                          sitting in front of the little neighbour's house. 

                      

                                  I plan for investigations and 

         

           sliding around in my cube. San tells me to be careful as this is our last one. 

                              I plan to be left alone and some quiet time

    and  just being myself. But I hear san is going to spend the day with her friend from school.       

                                  Hmmm....we will have to see what will happen. 

TGIF

The week has been rather wet with 3 out of 4 days of rain so Bujang did not get to walk on the grass. I did try to bring him down after the rain stopped but he did not even step out of his carrier. He doesn't like wet feet.

So instead he had walked along the corrfidor

as we had some sunshine...but not much

Today is TGIF. Maybe the day would get much more sunny later....

Community cat news

Our community cats were in trouble for some weeks. There were complaints that they were sitting on car bonnets and scratching the car enamel, which is ridiculous. Also some cat feeders had left food lying about which upset the residents. This is a pity as it's not the cats' fault at all and people should take more care if they want to help the cats. So after complaints by the Resident Committe the Town Council had sent email to the LO in our area. As a result of all that, we had to put up posters around the carpark and the nearby flats to advise people what they need to do if they want to help the cats. 

                  

This is the CWS poster we were given. It was only after I had laminated the posters that I read it more carefully and informed our LO that the term 'stray cat' should not be used at all as the correct term for the cats that we care for is 'community cat' and the Malay term is also incorrect. Since this poster was sent to me in PDF form I was not able to make the changes and so I had put the posters up as is. I hope the LO sends me a .doc so it's easier to correct the errors soon. I think if people think of them as stray cats or 'Kuching Liar' (wild cats), they would think the cats are without caregivers and may not treat them well. 

This is Puteh (white). She is about 10 years old. She is mild mannered and likes people. I am a glad she does not hang around at the carpark and therefore she is not in immediate danger. 

This is Baby. She is about 4 years old and very friendly with people she knows. She likes to play but knows when we want to clean her up. She would disappear in a flash then. 

                

This is Sunny Boy named for his cheery personality. He is three years. He is quite distrustful of people and was relocated to this place as we used to have only 2 cats here before. 

This is Jeffrey. He is the alpha male here but he has a mild personality now unless he sees a strange kitty trying to muscle in on the food. 

                      

This blurry picture shows Jeffrey and Baby helping us put up the posters around the car park yesterday. I hope the residents around this carpark don't do anything to them. 

              

We decided to change the site where we feed them to this quieter place away from the thoroughfare. People have expressed surprise and asked us why we are feeding them here. This may be a plus as we then speak about responsible feeding and the complaints as well. If more people are aware that the people are more at fault and the cats are now in danger of being caught, then they would take more care. 

In Conversation

For today I thought it would be good to see where Akira and Tanaka are at being more friendly. Fern, our good friend who helps them through weekly reiki sessions said that last Sunday, Akira was not keen on talking. She wanted to sleep but she said she was ok. I told Fern that the 2 kitties had been having conversations with each other through the baby gates and I hoped they were not insulting each other. Akira, at one point, had tried to beat Tanaka up through the gates. Fern said she would ask them about their conversations.

(Fern)  "Tanaka said Akira said don't come near her and she's not scared. Then he said 'really?' You are not scared? But he told me (Fern) that he was purposely teasing her. Not that he's gonna actually attack her. Then Akira got angry. And he was teasing her that now she's so brave."

When I asked Akira, she got upset and said loudly that he should have left her alone!

On a more upbeat note...but only under my supervision

Tuesday Thots

       

This morning I came out of the room early.  I sat here with san by the door. It was quiet as my brother Tanaka was inside the room instead. We are taking turns. San told us that taking turns is important to build relationships. 

     

San told me that I'd I keep all my four paws on the ground I get to sit outside wif Akira. I did this several times as I sometimes forgot and san told me if I forgot I will go back to the computer room to think about it fur a while. So I spent my time in an out offur the room. At least I was not bored. 

                   

I went for a morning walk with san. We went out at about 9 am thereabouts. It was quiet but I noticed many children were out walking, going to school. San said they may have extra lessons. WHO needs extra lessons? I can't imagine that. Anyway I spent a good deal of the time running in and out of my carrier as I was not used to so much movement. San says maybe tomorrow we can try going to much earlier still. I am looking forward to that. It's a good walk anyway.

Easy Peasy Sunday

   

This week we were lucky to spend some time inside and some time outside. Next week we hope to be outside more often, like every day as san will be on a term break. We plan to remind her every day about the importance of giving us the attention we deserve (this means more treats san)
