Take a break!

Its time to sle...zzz..

Its time to take a back seat...

The boys decided that moving furniture and throwing junk were too big a job for two cats. They then did just what cats do best - sleep and observe from a distance :)

Whats' this new flowered thingee?

Let's play!

Bujang was curious about grandma's new chair and flowered cushion. He came close to inspect it and Toro came even closer to inspect him! In no time at all, they were chasing each other around the chair :)

Litter left by primary school children for Putih...

I guess the litter left by the primary school children is what will ultimately be the undoing of Putih. The kind-hearted children who love her leave her food but forgot to think about her safety. I'm sure they love her as they had used their pocket money to buy her food every school day. Some days are worse than others and I have had to clean up some real messes. So yesterday I decided to tell the shop-keeper to remind the students not to throw the cat food around and to clean up after themselves. At first the man was quite taken aback but promised to help me remind the children. I also told him that if they keep throwing catfood around, Putih might not be around much longer to love!

Cik Mina relaxing under her favourite tree...
Cik Mina looked slim and pretty when I saw her. She has given birth already except I do not know where her kittens are yet. It would be in one of the rooms in the school I'm sure. She is a good mother though and would take care of her kittens very well. Her two kittens from her previous litter are alive and well and keeping well away from people.

Cal looking well and strong in her neighbourhood...

Putih minding her business and waiting for dinner...

Pretty cats all in a row with uncertain futures...

My wish for Singapore today is for every one be kind to a helpless animal and that all community cats and caregivers have a trouble-free day.

The cat Tanaka

Yup. This is the entry that got lost but I have to rewrite as if I want it to appear in this space. We are getting another cat into the amigo house from M, my friend who had also rescued Toro. The persian kitten is from her own 2 persian cats, one of which is Chester. I remembered telling M a long time ago that I wished I had such a pretty exotic cat (although I dearly love all my cats). I remembered watching a Malay couple who had a very beautiful bronze-marbled persian cat and they were going to get a British Shorthair. M and I then decided that we would not buy kittens from the petshop as there are many kittens and cats waiting to be adopted.
My very wise sister emailed me to say that this may not be a good decision as cats need a lot of space and I already have four :) She may be right of course and cats do need alot of space. I have told M that I would adopt the kitty and try to get her/him used to living with us - rather cramped I guess. If the kitty is not happy, then I will have to give her/him up to M again.
But all this is premature as the kitty is not born yet even and it will be 3 months before anything happens. Sally (another one of M's friend who is going to adopt the kittens) says she wants to have Chester's kittens and if anything happens to the kittens, I would want her to have them as her cat Ocean has been very sick with renal failure.
Maybe I am very selfish to want the persian kitten just because it would be pretty and I have been wanting one for such along time. But persian cats are not very active either so that is something I could comfort myself with.
Maybe I would just throw out my furniture to make space :)) I wonder if that will be enough :)

A dish of my own

I bought Megat his own dish today from PL at Tampines Mall because I broke his hand-me-down dish the day before yesterday. I was washing the CATIT and placed the dome filled with water on the dish-drying rack. I didn't realise that grandma had secured the rack with a piece of wire as it was loose and CRASH! the whole thing went down into the sink. Megat's dish and my mug were the only things that were broken. Thank goodness for that! So I guess it is about time that he got his very own dish :)

Bujang and the kid

Bujang resting on top of the cupboard - Lord of all he surveys..

I am GODZILLA!!!

Bujang resting without his alter ego...

Today my nephew and sister came to visit. My nephew likes playing with Bujang as he is the least skittish of all the kitties. Later Bujang decided he had quite enough of rough play and jumped on top of the cupboard for safety. It was only when my nephew arranged all the mice for him that he became curious and came down to investigate.

WildBunch at night

This is how the wildbunch's neighbourhood looks like at 7.30 pm on Saturday...

There was no one at the playground and as such the whole place was clean and tidy. Usually this place would be littered by children from the nearby school, moms waiting for their kids and teenagers who loiter and smoke in the playground.

Cal in close-up - as healthy as ever...

THE MAN (the one who insisted that I relocate Screaming Banshee aka Megat) insisted that Cal was pregant. I had to tell him again and again that Cal was spayed already and therefore she could not be pregnant. I even explained to him that her tipped ears meant that she had been sterilised and all tipped-eared cats are neutered cats. He didn't believe me and insisted that she was pregnant! Aiyoh! He also tried to convince me that cats bring disease. Worse and worse. I was very fed-up and tried to reason with him telling him about cats being very particular about where they bury their poo and TNR. Finally he conceded that I might have a point and proceded to tell me that if he doesn't see Minah in the mornings at our void deck, he becomes quite suspicious as he knows that cats are very good at sourcing out danger. Finally something good and reasonable.

Cal and FatBoy being neighbourly...

And even here, it was free from litter. No one was about anywhere except some people walking to their cars. No children, no teenagers, no quarrelling adults - no litter. The two kitties were very relaxed especially FatBoy who had eaten 400g of sardines from fussiecat.

Putih eating in the lamplight...

I think the kids who had been feeding Putih and throwing the cans and foil about the place will get Putih in trouble. ST told me that there were complaints made to the TC about feeders feeding cats indiscriminately and then throwing the empty cans and foil about the place. I told ST that if indeed this was the block under scrutiny, then the blame would be on the 2 kids who always feeds Putih and they sometimes spill the contents of the cans onto the pavement etc. I would know soon if this was the block in question and have asked my cousin who sometimes sees the two kids who their teachers were and what classes they were in. My cousin sometimes helps me feed the wildbunch. I thought if I know their names and classes and teachers I could appeal to the school to tell them to feed more responsibly. Maybe the TC would work with the school to educate the kids. Hmmm....

Minah after dinner...

I was glad to find Minah tonight as she was not about last night at all. She ate all her food and some leftovers from Putih. I fed Putih last as I saw Cal at the void deck and thought I should feed Cal first before she disappeared as she is easily spooked.

Totoro's 10001 try ...

Ready! Lets put everything together...

Steady...and...

GO!

Maybe tomorrow I will make it!

As usual Toro tried to make it to the top of the cupboard. He will always stop once he manages to stand to peer at it (like the 3rd picture). Then he would stop and lie down of the shelf as usual. One of these days for sure he would get to the top like Edmund Hillary and Mt Everest :)

Amigos on saturday by Bujang

OOOhh..the sun gets in my eyes...

On Safurrday, we hardly do anyfing in the house. San opened the window grills to let the sun in but it hurted my eyes...

Megat sleeping in late...
Megat always sleep in late on Safurrdays. Here he is, still sleeping away. This is not a good foto cos it shows him bald in places but I didn't tell san...hehe.. Megat can't blame me either cos he was asleep and I can always say.."Who told you to sleep so much? I can't take care offer effurrything you know."

Balancing act...

Akira is my best furriend. She is furry furry clever and can balance furry well on the window sill. She also likes to show-off cos none offur us can do this.

Me!

San took these pikshurs of me at the window. I knew she had the clicking box and so I decided to pose for the pikshurs. I think I look nice and natural too :)

Big Boss!
Yes. That is what I am. I can see effuryone from here. Effurything is in order in the amigos house. :))

Community cat news

Cat in centre of PR neighbourhood...

I was on my way to the doctor yesterday for a throat-crunching cough and saw this cat gnawing on a piece of chicken bone. It looked very hungry and continued to gnaw at the bone which had hardly any flesh attached to it. It was fortunate that I had some kibble in my bag (actually I always have kibble in my bag for cat emergencies) and gave her some on a piece of tissue paper. She had two servings of kibble and when she indicated that she had had enough, I went on my way. She had very pretty markings and a rich gold-burnt orange coloured fur. I think if she had much better food and care, her coat would rival the sun for sure.

Its too hot don't you know?

On my way home from the doctor ( I was given some black cough syrup, antibiotics and ventolin inhaler) I passed that way again and saw it hiding from the sun. It was relaxed and sleepy. A woman was putting some prayer offerings near the tents that were put up by the nearby supermarket. It was a bowl of rice, some toufu and of course candles. It worried me if the woman would chase the cat off if it took a bite of the offerings and so I stayed around to see. The woman looked at me suspiciously :X and so since the cat was going to take a nap anyway, I left.
