Manly Thots of two mancats

Yesterday, Fern sent me a message about the amigos and their Reiki session. For our mancat Tanaka, she said:
He was full of energy when we spoke. He said he wanted to play. I asked him to bear with me a little. Then I asked what he was up to. He said he found something he could play with and that I shouldn't hold him for too long. He told me that "little girl" went out with Mummy yesterday (Akira went to the osteopath). I said Akira is your sister remember? He listened and ran off.

Of Bujang, Fern said: He received energy well and thanked me at the end. He said he really enjoyed that game you had him play (Jitter Bug). He said it should have been available for him to play long ago!

oh dear....

Easy Peasy Sunday

Our favourite pictures of the week show Ms Akira playing in the cradle. This was the 2nd time she got into it in a space of two weeks. She had stopped sitting here for about 3 to 4 years almost as she was afraid of our bridge brothers. Bridge brother Megat used to sit here and shared the time with Bujang. I am glad she decided to hang out here at last. Bujang liked playing with the iPad game Jitter Bug, designed by Friskies. He had progressed from just watching the bugs to swatting them. Actually he started with watching me swat them, then he swatted them with me and then to not allowing me swat any by swatting my hand every time I tried to swatting them all himself. He had also tried just resting his paw on the screen so the bugs would burst into stars every time they crawl under his paw! The last one is of the 2 boys on the table helping me cut wheatgrass and of course eating them at the same time. The one with Tanaka by the window is an older picture of him just sitting in the cat seat modeling his citrine crystal.

He likes the yellow maggots most of all. But after every swat he would quickly lick his paw as though to clean it. I think he licks it to calm himself as well. Last week, Fern,  our animal communicator friend, tried to give him reiki and speak with him. He told her everything was fine but he was trying to concentrate on something else. Yup! He was playing Jitter Bug at the time!

Tanaka loves sitting here where he has a good view of Akira's room as well as everything else. This morning he decided to just hang out here to watch TV.
Have an Easy Peasy Sunday everyone!

Akira and the osteopath

This morning Akira went to the osteopath. She now sees Adrian only once very 3 months as she is better and he needs only to do some minor adjustments, if she needs them. She was suspicious from yesterday as she saw her red soft carrier among the cat toys. This morning after her breakfast, she went resolutely inside her cubby hole. Usually she would make a request to be let out into the family room on Saturdays.

This is Adrian, her osteopath. She likes him a lot and would sit even through the most painful massage. When I asked her if the treatments were working she said (to Laura, the animal communicator):
My body feels much better. I stretch better and when he massages me I feel a release of everything. My doctor said iam a nice cat.

I had asked her to tell Bujang about Adrian as I thought he would benefit from some realignment of his bones since he is already 10 this year and he does not like his back touched a lot. She told Bujang that: He is a human friend with a big heart and his heart is wild about cats. His heart stretches outward and inside of you so fear becomes nothing and love becomes everything.

I think that must be the best endorsement for anyone who works with animals.

In this picture we were at the 'garden' which is behind the osteopath clinic. It's a quiet and breezy space where you can sit and take a breather. We were here this morning an d not at our usual space as workers were digging the roads to build a foundation for a new building across the street.

Usually we would be seated here for the treatments. Tanaka's treatments are here as well as one of the other osteopaths is allergic to animals. I told Adrian about Bujang and he said he would be willing to see him. So in March Bujang would see this doctor since both Akira and Tanaka had only good things to say to him about Adrian. I hope he allows Adrian to treat him without incident.

When we came home she took a short nap.

Thursday Walkies

This post is rather late as san was tired and told me she would blog after dinner and after we were both resting in bed, just winding down for the day.

Today I went for a walk in my usual place. The days are now dry and we have not had rain for about 2 weeks already although our mornings are unusually cold. You can see how dry the grass is. I don't mind as I just like walking downstairs. I was walking towards the tree and san kept telling me not to go there but I was curious.

I decided to see what was in the plate.

As san told me not to eat them I merely smelled them. They were offerings for Chinese New Year and so had been under the tree for many days. San was surprised that none of the birds nor any insect had been anywhere near them as they looked quite perfect although an unnatural colour.

San was much happier when I was rooting about under these bushes although she didn't know what I might find under them. I was happier as well as san allowed me to walk all over this space and didn't give me dire warnings.

Then I found a sun puddle and decided to rest for bit to enjoy my day downstairs. It was a good day and san thought soas well.

I love grass, really I do.

Tanaka likes grass that is still in the pot or in this case tray. When he goes for a walk, this will be his first stop. First, the quick look into the box.

My role here is to act as a grass-bringer-outer person. He will wait for me to actually bring one tray out for inspection and approval. This always happens if there are two trays.

Once he has sniffed at and inspected the suitability of the said grass, there will be the first bite.

If he puts his whole head in the grass patch, we are safe for landing.

Good for you Akira!

Yesterday Akira was a very happy kitty as she could get out of her room in the afternoon. She walked about inspecting everything and everyone and after ensuring that everything is as it should be, she decided to sit here, in this cradle. This is where Bujang is most of the afternoon but seeing that Bujang was sleeping somewhere else, she commandeered this space for a good part of the day. She has not been here for many years because of our bridge brothers and of course because of Tanaka as well.
When she saw the clicky box, she decided to pose prettily
 "Are you done san?"
                                                                zzz...

For the last 4 days, we had had the CNY break and I had let her out early. Tanaka sits with me in my bedroom, which he likes so he does not become anxious. Later he sits for a short time in the computer room by himself as well. But he also walks along the corridor in the afternoon or evening and later, he gets out of the computer room when Akira sits in the kitchen. Tanaka does not go to the kitchen often or indeed at all these days. At this time, he does not have the harness and so is free to roam about. However, if Akira sits on top of the cage, he has the harness and lead as well.

I think this arrangement works out fine for everyone and so I have to find an equally agreeable solution now since school has started. The spirit essences also seemed to work well and he increasingly has let her alone. Of course last Sunday, he was looking at her closely and Akira yelled and slapped him twice from inside her gate! he was so shocked that he was not able to eat his breakfast. But later, I gave him his breakfast at another place and he ate with great gusto. So I guess they are both re-learning their bounderies.

I had previously asked Craig, a Reiki Practitioner about the both of them. Of Tanaka he says:

I connected quickly and the communication flowed easily. He was a joy to speak to and has such a beautiful vitality to him. I started by asking what he thought of Akira and his response was clear that he did not like her and that the space that they share is his. He explained that it was not that he hated her, but rather that he felt that if he gave up some of his space and allowed her access to it that Akira would get more love than he does. He acknowledged that they are both loved but Akira is 'pretty' and because of this she may get more love if he lets her have more freedom. He was worried that he was not as playful/sweet as she was in her own way and that he could not compete with this and would get less love.

So eventhough he has to be separated from her at these times, I do sit with him and explain to him why as much as I can.

Just Beacuse

Today is a school holiday so we have one more day to play with. I took these pictures of Bujang just to see how many poses he can come up with in a space of only a minute in a sunpuddle. This red chair is his and he would frequently run in front of a person whom he thinks will sit on it, and of course he will jump up on the chair and settle himself in it before that happens. Of course it's full of holes from his nails. Nowadays he let's Tanaka sit on it as well, but only if he is in the hanging basket or cradle by the window.

Easy Peasy Sunday

A few of our favourite photos of the week.

and a picture I took last night of Bujang and the iPad cat game Jitter Bug by Friskies.

He did try to kill the bugs that came fast and furious but was more interested in turning over the iPad to see if the bugs were under it. He smelled the iPad as well and tried to bite the bugs. Tanaka was not interested in the game and Ms Akira did not even look at it. I am always surprised at their reaction at these games as the cats I saw on YouTube behaved quite maniacally when given these games to play with.

I much prefur running about san. By the way is it time to get up?

Saturday Outside

This morning I brought Bujang downstairs as he was eager to be out. It is not often at all that we get to go out early. I agreed as it would be so much more noisy later as today being Saturday and the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year, a lot more people would be out.

It was not very not and the sun dappled the grass quite nicely. We saw some crows and pigeons already out.

It grew gradually hotter and a woman used the "hell money" bin provided by the town council. The ashes from the paper flew into the air and the acrid smoke filled our eyes so we had to move on to another park.

                                              The second park was better.

There are a few comcats here and so I guess that was what interested him more than anything else.

We spent some time here and then I thought it would be nice to just take a short walk around our flat and I brought him to the playground.

It was very breezy and we sat here quietly for half and hour or so. He sat in his carrier looking at the outside.

I was glad that no one was out at the playground but there were quite a number of people walking about from the car park to the other flats though.

Bujang decided to get out for a minute to investigate this big tree before getting back into his carrier. He did not like this place so much but I thin it's because this is not our usual haunt. We spent about 11/2 hours outside which is more than what we usually spend during weekdays. I am glad I was able to give him this quiet adventure.

Tanaka and I also went downstairs for a bit but he spent all of his time in the carrier. We went by the same route as Bujang and stayed at the same playground for a bit.

Tanaka was so quiet that a pigeon visited and walked around the carrier, oblivious to the cat inside:)

We didn't spend a long time at the playground as  a child and her father decided to join us. I brought him home and he decided that sitting here watching housework was so much better. The little lion was a gift from cousin r who bought  it for him yesterday.
