Last Day of 2024

 We feel grateful for these few ordinary days of uneventfulness. Our year has been quite a roller coaster health wise and so we wish for gentler days for us in 2025. We hope next year will be good for everyone. 

Thursday morning nap

It was little cooler this morning and so I thought I should take a nap after breakfast. San was reading as well as she has to get ready for school next week. We expect a quiet day.

Sky:  Last night I decided to sleep at the edge of the couch but I kept slipping off. San was not much help as she kept laughing at me. What a weird person.

Amigos Christmas

Momo: What if they jump out of the pot? 

 I usually clean their pots before Christmas but have to put their actual urns in the house. After much thought I decided to put the urns in Manju's room for safekeeping. Momo is an extremely curious kitty and had broken many porcelain and ceramic cats.

Are you still watching ?

Sky is the only one who is still fascinated by cat tee-vee. The mysteries of small birds chirping keeps her occupied for hours. She has since stopped batting at the birds on tee-vee though she sometimes falls asleep to the bird sounds.

New Friendships

I was surprised to see these 2 sitting so closely in the same space.  I hope they are becoming friends as eventhough Sky sometimes plays with Manju, she is excluded from the bff friendship of Manju and Momo. Sky and Momo are both the same age and Manju is way younger than they are. Sky, I notice takes the role of an older sister and Momo goes to her for comfort. But they are not friends. 
 

There’s a bird outside our window!

 I notice increasingly mynahs and crows will sit on the ledge of our windows. I think they know the cats won’t be able to get them. 

The Grooming Saga

His paws are ok and he can now jump and run and of course pranks his sisters as much as he likes. He hurt his toe on his right back leg as he gripped the metal door of the groomer’s hard carrier too tightly and they could not release it without opening the metal door and that is never a good idea with cats when still outside. 

Both the groomer and I could find no reason for his behaviour as he knows them and he had been to these sessions three times already with no problems. So I asked Chris toask him how he was last Friday. His answer shocked us both. ‘momo said after my bath I would have to live somewhere else’. So he decided not to have a bath and not to cooperate at all. Instead he screamed and growled so no one could bathe him. I told Momo not to scare her brother with fake news and conspiracy theories!
 

Manju was so upset that he had a fever on Friday night and he slept through most of Saturday from exhaustion. 

Toil and trouble behind closed doors

 This Sunday the birds were up very early and were flying across the windows. They could not believe their luck that they had real cat teevee  so close to home. On another note I was very glad to see Manju up with his sisters here this morning as he was quite lethargic the day before. He had a very bad experience at the groomers and hurt one of his toes on his back paw. I was monitoring him all of yesterday and made him sleep in his own small room to rest. I hope that he would be better and actually eat his meals today. 

Just Because Manju

San said I am a very handsome little kitty and I have grown much. I seem to be much more relaxed with everything and everyone. Also I have stopped being too bitey and have allowed san to pet me softly and slowly. It has taken me about 2 years to learn this.  

Happy Days

 San came home from the Big Vet yesterday. She spent 1.5 days there getting help for a lung infection and water in her lungs. It was lucky that the vet found the strain of bacteria that infected her lungs and gave her the right antibiotics. Cousin R came to take care of us when she was not about so we were not frightened. SAN has never left us by ourselves at night so we were thankful that she was able to get this help. She was grateful as well but she has a mountain of meds. I am glad we only have boxes of chicken and tuna. I sat with her at breakfast and am now getting much needed sleep. 

Birds of the rainforest

Relaxing and watching the strange-looking birds of the rainforest, I think it's because they have never seen these birds from their windows. Now, if the birds were pigeons, there would have been a lot of hunting going on.

I am a princess!

san asked me why I kept meowing the whole of last night. She said she had a hard time trying to get some sleep. I told her that I couldn't help it if I was a princess! She had to get used to these things if she brought a princess home.

Hanging out with san

San came home early today, before even 12 clock. So I decided to sit with her to see if she would give us lunch. But of cos san is a stickler for the time and told me that lunch is at 12.30. She is a difficult one!

Tuesday with the sisters

 Sometimes birds come close to the window and use the sill as perches. At these times there would be a long period of hide and seek. They move like ninjas.

Wednesday with the 3 amigos

 As usual san went to work much later today. So we had some time to rest and relax with her. We watched  some pigeons on tee-vee and listened to some reiki music. But there is nothing better than  relaxing early in the morning.

False Pretences

san said no one can get angry when they see toe  beans.  Today is the second day that we have our own pages. I told her it’s not so fair if it’s only my toes and no one would know it was   me. san also wanted me to tell you that we are grateful that you came to see us. She said the reason she didn’t leave anything on your pages is because Blogger told her 1001 times that she has no right to leave anything much less comments  and she has to be anonymous wherever she goes. 
 

It’s me Sky!

 San said it would be nice for us to appear by ourselves once in while instead of as a group. I had some chicken this morning and tried to eat some from Momo’s plate as well. Momo is a little silly and she always gives me her food. 

Investigations on Deepavali

MJ: Since it was a public holiday, san began the day late and she told me to take care of the plants. I was okay with that  as if not our breakfast would be later than it was already. San gave us all treats afterwards. YAY!!

Prime seating.

San bought the rattan shelving unit to put the tv cables so they don’t fall off each other. She used to stack them but often they would fall off as this was a good place to play hide and seek. We told her it was a good idea as now, we each have our own space to watch tee-vee. San told us we should behave better  now that we have the seats we wanted. 
 

Sisters ‘n’ me Sunday

 MJ: I told san that she needed to take a spelling class as she should spell ‘sisters’ properly. She said she wanted the word ‘sis’ so she would keep it. San is weird that way sometimes. No wonder she gets into so much trouble at work. 

The calm after the storm

 Manju is now the biggest kitty of the 3 and he is only a 2 year old cat. He tortures Momo and tries to slap Sky. I think he’s just trying his luck. But I am grateful for these moments of quiet when he naps. 

What do we watch in the afternoon?

 We Netflix and Chill san. Kdrama for us. 

Bath time

Both Momo and Sky had a spa session this week as their paws were too slippery and Sky kept slipping off the cat seats. Sky was good at the groomers and they said she enjoyed bathing. They had even cleaned her ears. At home she won’t stay still long enough for me to clean her ears and I of course worry about her ears getting blocked. She has yet to allow us to carry her even. She has been with us for three years now. I suppose some traumas can last a long time.

Manju spent his time just yelling at the groomers. His fur is long for a dsh and he sheds more than this sisters. He really hates water. 

Momo does a really loud wail ever time she goes to the groomers. But thank goodness she is getting used to grooming. She loves sitting at high places and she likes the gym the most. So her paws will have to be trimmed often.

It’s way too early san. We’re not even dressed yet…I mean we’re not ready for breakfast yet. 

Shogun in the afternoon

 m: Can we switch over to bird teevee Sky? This is very violent. 

S: No san. I want to see why it won many awards. 

m: Ok. But don’t blame me if the death toll …

S:  Hmmm. Ok san. Bird teevee is better. 

Just Because

This is something they’ve just learnt - that all of them can sit here at the same time to watch the birds. But it’s not something that they do more than a a few minutes and I think only in the morning. 
 

Thursday with Manju

 

Roses for us?

San got some flowers sent to her by some people from the office. We decided to investigate in case there were treats. But no! Sometimes we think people have their priorities wrong!
 

Monday with Just 3 Cats.

 We told san that we will be taking care of her and that at any time one of us (maybe not Manju) will be in the same place as her. San said she was grateful for us and had missed us much when she was away. But now we are together so it’s all good. San is thankful nothing worse has happened to her. 

Welcome back san

I made sure that I kept an eye on san today although I did fall asleep sometimes. Last Sunday san had a fall and hurt her head. She fainted and had to go to the Big Vet. She stayed a whole week and came back only yesterday. She told me the Big Vet said she should change positions slowly as she has postural hypotension. She told me it was not life threatening. I felt very afraid when I did t see her and thought she had abandoned us. But I knew she would never do that. She told Chris to talk to us about it and so I decided to watch over her closely.

Saturday Snooze

 I had a short Saturday snooze by the open window. It rained a bit and and was cooler. San said I had to be careful as it would be humid later in the day as we have an equatorial climate. I told san to stop with the weather  reports and let me enjoy myself for a bit. 

Friday in my garden

 I was checking out the cactus and decided it would not taste good. 

Melted white chocolate

It was so hot yesterday that san said I looked like melted chocolate. We are having a heat wave and will be having it for some time. I am glad I do not live outside as it would be even hotter. 

Pink toes

That’s me. Now that I am older my fur is turning many colours. SAN said I am like Joseph although I don’t know who that is.

Cat TV at home…

san bought a new tv and now we can see cat tv but only at night.  Our one question to her is : Why can’t we touch the birds huh? Why?

Yes it’s a good breeze san

 Both of them sitting at the open door this morning to catch the breeze. It’s way too hot these days. Sky and Momo are all getting hair cuts and Manju a de-shedding session today. I hope all goes well.
