Look at me now...

On 2 February 2023, Bujang fell off the coffee  table. He managed to jump up onto the couch so I assumed nothing serious had happened. In the early morning of the next day, he went into his litter bin and could not climb out of it. I helped him out but he lay on his side quietly and I knew it was time to go to hospital. In the same day, he got an MRI and the vets said there was no bleeding  in his brain, nor tumors nor polyps. The hospital diagnosed an inflammation of the inner ear and sent him home with 3 weeks of antibiotics and 1 week's worth of pain medication the next day. Thier only instruction, "In a month if he doesn't improve, tell us."

Since I was not one to wait a month to see if he recovers his mobility from merely antibiotics, I went immediately to his own vet and discussed his meds and the advice given to us, which was 'monitor' his condition. Needless to say, that was not very helpful. So after 1.5 months of weekly visits to his vet to monitor medications or change medication, twice weekly visits to his acupuncturist to strengthen his legs and hips, visits to his osteopath and almost daily chats with his ac, he is now able to do many things by himself, walking being one of them and yelling another. Of cos he is still not strong and still walks unsteadily but this is a long way from him not even being able to turn over or stand. He still has a long way to go but things are looking up.

Good job, Bujang! The important thing is for you to be able to go where you need to go and want to go!

did they xray his spine for disc space loss and/or prescribe steroids for inflammation?

They didn't x-ray his spine for loss of disc space this time. Only 2 years ago when they could not figure out what he had. Yes, they did give steroids for inflammation, for 5 days.
