Monday News

During the long weekend San was very busy going to the PetExpo2016. It's an annual exhibition for pet foods and all manner of pet accessories. There were seminars, dog training sessions and adoption drives. San left us much to our own devices as she was attending the Masterclass Conference - The Science and Application of Animal Rehabilitation Therapies organized by PetExpo and ARCH Health Services.

She was very pleased to see all of our vets and therapists there.
Dr Jean Paul Ly  used to be our rainbow brother Megat's vet when he was going through lymphoma.  He used to kiss Megat on his head at every consultation and was very kind to waive fees for the many consultations and ultra sound sessions that Megat had at the end. He also offered Megat a place in the memorial room but san wanted Megat home with us.  He was also the vet who had done the surgery for our brother Totoro but it was not possible to save him. We were very lucky to have met Dr Ly who has been a holistic vet for 41 years. He is also the consultant for ARCH Health Services and gave very good advice at the Q&A sessions especially regarding the controversial issue of giving kidney cats proteins.
Our osteopath Dr Adrian Lalani who spoke about osteopathy and animals. He showed Tanaka's picture on one of his slides.
But san thinks the original picture was better. Of cos she did not have it on hand to show you how beautiful my brother Tanaka was in the original picture.
Our acupuncturist Dr Oh Soon Hock who was speaking about how TCM had helped a Pomeranian who had a tumour in his brain and how the doggie had lived 2 more very happy years with his persons. San also listened to Ozone Therapy, Chiropractic therapy and Hydro Therapy. But what she thought would help us would be Dr Lucia Meijer whom she met a long time ago when she consulted Dr Ly about my sister Akira. She thinks Body Talk would be the way to go for Akira as well. San spoke to her personally and she said we can go to her website to see the techniques of Body Talk. Dr Meijer website is at www.natural-connection.com before deciding if this is the way to go.

One important point that Dr Ly made was that it was time to go beyond conventional veterinary medicines and its time to explore various kinds of rehabilitation therapies in conjunction with conventional medicines.San agrees totally.
This is Fern, the lady who gives us weekly Reiki and talks to us every week. She is our very own psychiatrist. She was not a speaker at the conference but she has helped us in many ways as well.

san says she would be lucky to have any of these therapies herself and so on behalf of my brothers and sister, I thank san who loves us and would do everything she can to make sure we are ok. [san made me say that!]

The fuzzy buddy used to belong to our rainbow kitty Megat. Now Popps has taken a liking to him as well.

Easy Peasy Sunday

Here I am resting after my visit to the vet. San broughted me there fur some constipation problems. After 2 weeks of her giving me that foul lactulose, the vet announced that I have furry little in my big intestine. I do not know why he recommends that I still take the lactulose still but I heard him say that if I do the big one once in two days it should work out alright as I eats more kibble than canned.
I am glad my Sunday began well with no trips outside. San decided that I did not have to wear the collar as the vet had given me an injection for the itch on my face. I hope she keeps her promise.
I will just spend Sunday lazing about. It's not too warm today although the news had warned about high temperatures.
San and I have a truce. As long as I allow her to give me the SubQ she will not being me to the vet. San told the vet about it this morning. They seemed very happy not to see me. I am happy not to see them as well.

Saturday Easy

Waiting for a breeze by the living room window
Waiting for a breeze at the bedroom window
Waiting for a breeze by the corridor window
Just hanging out on the floor where it's cooler.

The day was very very hot with hardly any breeze at all. Akira had the brightest idea and lay full out on the ceramic floor. It's the only cool place in the house. We hope our friends have a cooler time of it wherever they are.

A garden in a city

At a housing estate near us, the residents have taken up community gardening of sorts. I assume they would have to invest their own money to have small plots from the Town Council. Here they can plant vegetables or just ornamental plants to sell. The interesting part is there is a ginger cat that goes into all their plots to rest. He seems to be a part of the gardening group.
A plot that has vegetables and runners.
Mr Ginger Gardener resting from his labours.
Ms Calico supervising the bicycle kiosk.
Ornamental plants in one of the lots.

This is an old estate and apart from this initiative there is still much to be done with regards to public spaces and community issues as well as commcat issues with responsible feeding and sterilization

Tuesday Thots

Here I am under the kitchen table. It's my private place. I have my own mat that keeps me warm and my day bed with my toy rabbit. I also have a scratcher that San had tied to the table leg in case I need it. My water and food are hidden by the table leg. I am still a little itchy but it's a little better.

Cody on Monday

After a long interval we finally have more pictures of Cody.
He is looking well and more importantly is well and happy at home with his sister Halley.
Halley may not think he is an asset though :)))
Nevertheless our Monday Mood is Thankfulness.

Popps had to go to the vet yesterday as I noticed that she had a dark bald spot at the side of her mouth. It was not wet nor did it look fungal. I was thankful the vet said it was moisture dermatitis, the result of her continual licking of her face. Although she told Fern it was less itchy, it must still be itchy enough for her to do it. The vet gave her a shot of antibiotics and some anti itch meds. He did tell me it's a steroid to stop the itch but when I told him Popps was about 10, he said it was okay as long as there was an appropriate interval before the next one (if she should need it)

So indeed we have many things to be thankful for.

Easy Peasy Sunday

San thought my picture says it all

Saturday Easy

I had to tell Bujang off for coming so close to my face. Other than that, my face is less itchy and San says it's also looking much better. Even my whiskers are growing a little but San says it may be due to me not putting my face against the scratcher. So Saturday is good for me.
I am having such a fine time outside. I like just sitting here with San infront of my house.
I plan to spend Saturday just napping.
I'm trying to persuade San that a mancat does not need a flower on his collar. But San just laughs and thinks I'm cute.

On the question of tv programming

In my opinion only programmes about pigeons eating, flying about and generally  going about their pigeony business are fine. I myself am extremely partial to such things. Red cardinals make for a good 30 minute entertainment. However I have no patience with mice (as San calls them). iPad cat games are good for about a month or two. But they became very tedious for a cat after that.

Tuesday Thots

Here I am just relaxing and talking to San. At least I can hear her talking and see her taking my pics. It good as she is not watching TV which is very bad for the human brain.

Monday Mood

                  Hanging out
I told Fern that my face is no longer itchy although my whiskers have not grown much. San says they keep breaking near the roots. We are both trying to see if the omega 3 would help me in this instance.

Never mind Popps. I have enough whiskers for two.

Saturday Easy

I made sure San took a good picture of me.  So when she called my name I looked at her straight.  It's time she had a proper photo.

Then for good measure I said 'pfbbt'

Just Because

Akira thought only of naps. She is now taking omega 3 as well in her TCM. Her vet and acupuncturist said it will help her with her kidneys as well as her skin. One thing for sure she sleeps more and is more relaxed.
